Donna Peterson, FoodWise Teaching Coordinator of Grant, Green, Iowa and Lafayette Counties, was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) 85th annual season, whose theme was “Nurturing the Richness of Lifelong Learning”. She received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award at the conference held September 30-October 3, 2019 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
In receiving this award, Peterson was recognized as a FoodWise Teaching Coordinator in Wisconsin serving four counties; Grant, Green, Iowa, and Lafayette. Teaching all ages, from Head Start to older adults at meal sites topics of nutrition, food safety, and stretching your food dollars.
The NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award is the highest award presented by the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and is sponsored by the NEAFCS awards fund. The award recognizes members for leadership, outstanding program efforts, and personal and professional development. Donna Peterson’s commitment to meeting the needs of individuals, families, and communities is exemplary.
