GCL 2021: Leadership & Government Series

Registration Information — Register Now for GCL Leadership Government Series Sessions

  • If you live or work in Green County, you are invited to join in these special sessions to learn more about government in Green County at the local, state, and federal levels. Then, invite your colleagues, neighbors, friends, and fellow community members. 
  • There is no financial cost to join any session. 
  • Participants must register prior to the session. You can register for one or more sessions. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. 
  • Participants can join by calling in, accessing Zoom on their phone with or without a camera/video, using a computer without a camera, and/or using a computer with a camera. 
  • All sessions will be civil and non-partisan.

Session 1: Introduction to Civics & Local Government (April 1)

Session Focus

This session will include:

  • Understanding and reflecting on what government does in our daily life;
  • A refresher on how policies are made locally; and
  • Identifying ways to effectively stay connected and engaged with what is happening in local government.

Session Resources

Session 2: Effective Communication with Local Officials (April 15)

Session Focus

This session will include:

  • Connecting with Green county board members for updates on Green county government; and
  • Meeting with Green county department heads to learn more about departments and departmental updates.

Session 3: Effective Communication with State & Federal Elected Officials (April 29)

Session Focus

This session will include:

  • Learning about communicating effectively with elected officials; 
  • Connecting with federal staffers for federal office updates; and
  • Meeting with state elected officials in an informal setting.
