Save a Calf, Save a Cow

UW-Madison Division of Extension is hosting calving workshops for Dairy Farmers, Dairy Workers (presented in Spanish) and Beef Farmers that are at a hands-on in-person session. Some sessions will have Spanish translation options available (see dates below, or the registration form for more information).

  • Getting the calf off to a good start: Colostrum management and care of the neonatal calf
  • Nutrition strategies for health and future reproductive success
  • Stages of labor and signs to watch for – when to call for help
  • Calving equipment options

Registration completed and course fee received by November 18th for the Spanish sessions, and by December 2nd for the English sessions.
