Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) Certification
For 2024, this certification will be required of:
Green County Fair Animal Exhibitors (Dairy, Beef, Swine, Sheep, Goats, Poultry & Rabbits) – must complete and submit certification number as part of Green County Fair entry process.
WI State Fair Junior Animal Exhibitors (Dairy, Beef, Swine, Sheep, Goats, Poultry & Rabbits) – must complete and submit certification number as part of WSF entry process.
If you are a new family and have not done YQCA before on this system, you will need to create a new account on the YQCA website. This is the link for the new YQCA website and you can view or print Step by Step YQCA instructions.pdf (7pgs) on how to create a new account. Be sure to select the correct course for the youth’s age as of Dec 31, 2023. Select the state and then either select a Web-Based Training or Instructor Led Training. The course MUST BE paid for online. Keep a copy of the receipt/confirmation.
YQCA Navigation Videos:
- Purchasing an Instruction Led Training (YouTube Video)
- Completing a Web-Based Training (YouTube Video)
If you already have an account, you can login using your user name and password for your YQCA account. After you login, you will be able to select your class to participate in (either an online class or instructor led training).
IMPORTANT-– After registering for YQCA training, you will be asked to do a “pre-test”. This is not really a test and is merely an evaluation with simple questions for the youth. After completing the pre-test, the system will approve your training process when it is completed. After the approval, you will need to do a “post-test”. Again, this is not really a test and is merely an evaluation with simple questions for the youth. After the post-test is completed, you will be able to access your certification of completion and print it.
2024 YQCA Training Options
Print the 2024 YQCA Flier.pdf (1pg) for detailed information.
Option A – Web Based Training – Curriculum is tailored to an exhibitor’s age for a better learning experience. This training is available 24/7, which allows exhibitors the flexibility to take the course at their convenience. It includes three interactive modules and corresponding quizzes. Cost is $12 per person, per year, and MUST be paid online.
Option B – Test-Out Option – Youth ages 12 ($36), 15 ($48) and 19(36) may choose the test out option. Youth must score 80% or better and you will only be charged if you pass the test. If you don’t pass, you will be instructed to take the web-based training. If you pass, you will need to retest when you reach the next age split.
Option C – Instructor-Led Trainings – Sessions will be held face-to-face and are limited to the first 50 youth. Youth MUST register, pay online and complete the pre-test, BEFORE attending the training. Exhibitors need to arrive at least 10 minute sin advance of the session to check-in and MUST stay the full 60 minutes. Cost is $3 per person, per year, and MUST be paid online at the time of registration. Exhibitors ages 19-21, as of December 31, 2023, CANNOT take the Instructor-Led Training, and instead must take the Web-Based Training.
A YQCA Instructor-Led Training will be held Saturday, March 2nd, from 9:45am-11:00am at the Green County Human Services Building, N3152 WI-81, Monroe, WI. You must register and pay online to attend.
