Training on Nutrient Management Plans
Join Extension Green County & the Green County Land and Water Conservation Department for a farmer-focused training on nutrient management plans. Over the course of the two day training you will…
- Complete educational training required by DATCP to be certified to write your own nutrient management plan.
- Understand and learn to write a nutrient management plan tailored to your farm.
- Meet requirements for programs such as the Farmland Preservation Program or Cover Crop Cost Sharing opportunities.
Things to Bring
While not necessary, the following materials will be very helpful to bring along if you have them.
- Numbered field maps indicating acreage.
- Soil test (no older than 4 years) uploaded into SnapPlus or stored on a USB in Excel format, with map showing sample collection; alternatively – printed soil test.
- Livestock inventory (count of each species – type and classification based on weight).
- Manure information (storage capacity, application rates per acre).
- Updated crop rotation plan.
