4-H Camp

At 4-H Camp, youth will participate in a variety of classic summer camp activities like canoeing, campfires, group games, and outdoor exploration. Learn more about what’s offered for different age groups below!

4-H Camp Sessions


For campers in 3rd-6th grades as of the 2025-2026 school year. 

Youth will enjoy a variety of outdoor and camp experiences away from cell phone and screen. Favorites base camp activities often include:

  • Archery
  • Swimming
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Campfires
  • Large Group Games
  • Time with Youth Counselors

Youth will sleep in rustic cabins, assigned by gender and age.  Each cabin has bunk beds for 12-14 campers, one or two high school age youth staff, and enrolled 4-H adult volunteer chaperones.  Campers will help clean their cabin and bunk.

Youth will be served wholesome, family style meals in the large dining hall with a modern kitchen is at the  center of the camp.  We also offer afternoon and evening snacks. Campers help set and clean tables. Youth will experience full and active days, waking up by about 7:00am and lights out at 10:00pm each day.

Camper Fees:

  • Tier 1: $260 (Full camp cost)
  • Tier 2: $195 (25% donation-funded)
  • Tier 3: $130 (50% donation-funded)
  • Financial Assistance Tier: $65 (50% of Tier 3)

For Campers in 7th-8th grades as of the 2025-2026 school year. Minimum of 8 campers required.

Youth will experience the adventures of Upham Woods in a new and deeper ways than ever before, while still enjoying a few favorite of base camp.

NEW this year, Adventure campers will sleep 2 nights in the camp dorms and 1 night in tents behind the nature center. Youth will eat some meals in the dining hall, but other meals they will work as a team to prepare and cook their own meals over a campfire.

Plans are being made to spend a exploring lesser known parts of camp by canoe, paddling to Northshore and Blackhawk Island and picnicking along the river.

In this small group camp environment, youth will focus in on building their teamwork, communication and  leadership skills, while enjoying the outdoors and exploring the natural environment in new ways.

For Campers in 9th-12th grades as of the 2025-2026 school year. Minimum of 6 campers required.

Youth will sleep in tents, cook food outdoors and enjoy the hiking trails, bluff top overlooks, Native American burial mounds, and canoeing at Wyalusing State Park.

Camper Fees:

  • Tier 1: $140 (Full camp cost)
  • Tier 2: $105 (25% donation-funded)
  • Tier 3: $70 (50% donation-funded)
  • Financial Assistance Tier: $35 (50% of Tier 3)

Youth Staff

Youth staff positions at camp are designed to provide more support for campers and increased leadership opportunities for older youth.

  • Work directly with a small group of 4-8 campers (3rd-6th gr.) for the full length of camp, supporting these same campers both in the cabins and throughout the days’ activities.
  • Work cooperatively with youth and adult staff to supervise and manage camper behavior.
  • Contribute to camp program planning and leadership, for such aspects as camp theme, evening programs, and campfire.

Adult Volunteers

Adult staff positions at camp are designed to provide support for youth staff, assist in leading camp activities and ensure the supervision and safety of all youth at camp.

  • Create and maintain a safe and welcome environment through the camp program, which in most cases will require riding the bus, sleeping in the cabins on cabin hill, eating family style meals in the dining hall and engaging in the many camp activities.
  • Provide support, resources and guidance to youth staff who will work directly with a small group of 4-8 campers (3rd-6th gr.) for the full length of camp, including assisting them in supervising campers and manage camper behavior.
  • Contribute to camp program and overall camp team by assisting or leading a camp activity (nature, art, recreation, etc.), and/or stepping into a camp role such as flag ceremony leader, snack coordinator, dining hall supervisor, health coordinator, campfire coordinator, etc.
