Performing Arts (Music, Theatre, Art)

What is the Performing Arts Committee?

The Performing Arts Committee was created to promote music and drama education in the Green County 4-H program. The committee plans performing arts events throughout the year. We are a fun and inclusive committee! We have monthly or bi-monthly meetings. The members of our committee learn a lot about leadership, teamwork, and of course, performing arts!

How do I join the Performing Arts Committee?

If you are interested in joining the Performing Arts Committee, please send an email to performing.arts.committee.gco@gmail.com with some information about you! We are a diverse group, open to new thoughts and ideas!

4-H Talent Show

We are searching for participants for an enjoyable, entertaining talent show. The event will be open to all 4-H members (5K-13th Gr.). The talent show will be free to attend and to perform in.

Any type of performances are welcome; magic, comedy, singing, piano, instrumental, dance, spoken word, etc. Both individual and team acts are welcomed. There is a limit of 30 acts total.

Youth in the talent show will be expected to attend a Dress Rehearsal to practice on Wednesday evening, May 29, 2024 at the band shell.

Art in the Park is a theater workshop for younger 4-H youth. It is hosted in the New Glarus Woods State Park. We teach and play theater games and boomwhackers. The participants also learn a small skit to perform!

4-H Concert Band

We are searching for 4-H youth who would like to play in a 4-H Concert Band! We will be starting 1-hour rehearsals at the Monroe Arts Center in early spring (2024). Rehearsals will be engaging, informative, and enjoyable – a fun space for youth to learn more about music! We will be performing at the 4-H Talent Show (June).

We are looking for youth who play any band instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, or xylophone/percussion. Previous school-related band experience is required. If you are interested, please email Megan Leitner at performing.arts.committee.gco@gmail.com.

Fall Forum Presentation 2023

The 4-H Performing Arts Committee presented at the 2023 Fall Forum at Upham Woods in October!

Committee members were able to meet other 4-H members across the state, share their passion for performing arts, and receive new ideas to bring back to Green County 4-H!
