Green County Master Gardener Association

What is GCMGA?

The Wisconsin Master Gardener Program teaches volunteers who aid University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension Extension Staff by helping people in the community better understand horticulture and their environment. The Green County Master Gardener Association (GCMGA) is located in Monroe, Wisconsin and helps to serve the needs of all gardeners in Green County and the surrounding area. 

Mission

  • To serve the needs of all gardeners in Green County and the surrounding area.
  • To promote the continuing education of members through horticultural education, programs, tours, etc.
  • To promote community service through volunteer activities.
  • To recognize members who meet and maintain certification.
  • To provide for the exchange of ideas and to provide opportunities to promote the understanding of responsible gardening practices.
  • To provide a link between the community and the UW-Extension.

The Green County Master Gardener Association (GCMGA) will award up to $1,000 in annual scholarships to graduates of Green County area high schools or Green County residents enrolled in secondary education. This includes students already attending college or a Technical College. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage individuals to take advantage of continuing educational opportunities in agronomy, botany, horticulture, or a related field. Applicants may attend a four-year public, private college or a Technical College either within the state of Wisconsin or outside of the state. For more information, view the Green County Master Gardeners Association Scholarship Application (2 pgs). Applications are due April 30th.
