About the Green County Master Gardeners Association
The Wisconsin Master Gardener Program teaches volunteers who aid University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension Staff by helping people in the community better understand horticulture and their environment. The Green County Master Gardeners Association (GCMGA) is located in Monroe, Wisconsin and helps to serve the needs of all gardeners in Green County and the surrounding area.
Scholarship Opportunity! The Green County Master Gardeners Association (GCMGA) will award up to $1,000 in annual scholarships to graduates of Green County area high schools or Green County residents enrolled in secondary education. This includes students already attending college or a Technical College. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage individual to take advantage of continuing educational opportunities in agronomy, botany, horticulture, or a related field. Applicants may attend a four-year public, private college or a Technical College either within the state of Wisconsin or outside of the state. Mission
- To serve the needs of all gardeners in Green County and the surrounding area.
- To promote the continuing education of members through horticultural education, programs, tours, etc.
- To promote community service through volunteer activities.
- To recognize members who meet and maintain certification.
- To provide for the exchange of ideas and to provide opportunities to promote the understanding of responsible gardening practices.
- To provide a link between the community and the UW-Extension.
Want to Become a Master Gardener?
The Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener Program supports a network of individuals dedicated to horticulture education, service, and lifelong learning. Through university research-based horticulture training, they are equipped to address needs and opportunities in their community and throughout the state.
Master Gardeners are motivated individuals who use gardening and horticulture education to make a difference in their communities.
