safeTALK – Suicide Prevention Training

LivingWorks safeTALK participants learn to recognize when someone is thinking about suicide and connect them to an intervention provider, such as a LivingWorks ASIST trained helper. In this way, LivingWorks safeTALK participants build a safety network around these intervention providers and greatly increase their reach and impact.

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

NAMI – Family to Family Class

February 19 - April 8, 2024

8 session educational program

NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidenced-based program. This means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition.

NAMI Family-to-Family not only provides information and strategies for taking care of the person you love, but you’ll also find out that you’re not alone. Recovery is a journey, and there is hope.

Crisis Intervention Partner Training

April 9th-April 10th
Darlington, WI

Crisis Intervention Partners (CIP) training is a 16 hour training modeled after the training component of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) programs. CIP is designed for wide-ranging audiences interested in better understanding and improving interactions with people who experience mental health crises. Participants include correctional officers, 911 dispatchers, emergency personnel, hospital staff, teachers, social workers, and more.

Through information and practice, CIP is re-training participants to effectively use attitudes, beliefs, and verbal/non verbal skills as part of their response to crisis situations.
